Jammu, Apr 22: Pakistan-based terror mentors using drones to drop arms and narcotics from across the border to support terrorists active in different parts of Jammu and Kashmir. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday conducted raids at nine locations in Kashmir Valley in the case related to such cases which were registered in 2022. The case (RC -05/2022/NIA/JMU) was registered by the NIA suo-moto on 21st June 2022. It is related to the conspiracies hatched by cadres and Ground Workers (OGWs) of various proscribed terrorist organizations in cohorts with their Commanders based in Pakistan. It involves the collection and distribution of huge consignments of narcotics, cash, weapons, and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), including remote-control-operated sticky bombs / magnetic bombs. The IEDs and explosives are often being delivered over drones and are also being assembled locally, in order to execute terrorist attacks in J&K, as per the NIA investigations. The attacks are mainly targeted at minorities and security forces personnel. The conspiracies are being hatched both physically and in cyberspace over encrypted social media applications, with the overarching aim of disturbing peace and communal harmony, engaging in terrorist acts, and waging a war against the Government of India. Meanwhile, in a massive crackdown in the Jammu & Kashmir terror conspiracy case involving Pakistan-backed banned terrorist organizations and their offshoots, NIA on Monday raided nine locations across Kashmir. Several digital devices containing large volumes of incriminating data and documents were seized during the raids, conducted at the premises of hybrid terrorists and OGWs linked with the newly-formed offshoots and affiliates of proscribed terrorist outfits such as Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), Al-Sadr, Al-Qaeda, etc. |
