Jammu, May 10: Continuing its commitment to the “Nasha Mukat Bharat Abhiyan” and the preservation of Jammu and Kashmir’s traditional culture, the Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) staged its 423rd Friday Series Musical Play, “Nasha Nai Karna,” in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and the Social Welfare Department of Jammu and Kashmir Government. The event took place at Anuradha Mission School, Bantalab, Jammu. The musical play, written and directed by renowned artist Dr. M.L. Dogra, unfolded amidst an atmosphere of cultural celebration and social consciousness. Over 250 students and teachers took a solemn pledge against substance abuse, administered by Usha Raina, Guru of BLSKS, reinforcing the mission of a drug-free India. Gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest was Komal Singh, Principal of Anuradha Mission School, who commended the initiative of the Nasha Mukat Bharat Abhiyan and the efforts of BLSKS in raising awareness through vibrant cultural programs. Neeru Bakshi, Anita Ji, and other esteemed guests of honor, including senior teachers from the host school, added to the event’s significance. The musical journey commenced with soul-stirring performances of songs like “Nasha Na Karna – Man Lo Kehna,” “Hogi Badi Khrabi,” “Waloo Mashooq Maiyane,” and “Jag Janni Bharat Mata.” The captivating music, composed by renowned musician Mr. Raju Bajgal, enraptured the audience, highlighting the rich cultural heritage of the region. In his address, Chief Guest Komal Singh shed light on the Nasha Mukat Bharat Abhiyan’s objectives and the challenges posed by substance abuse. He lauded the collaborative efforts of BLSKS and emphasized the importance of such awareness programs in combating the menace of drug addiction. Dr. M.L. Dogra, Chairman of BLSKS, emphasized the need to address the withdrawal symptoms associated with substance abuse and reiterated the organization’s commitment to promoting public awareness on issues like plastic pollution. Mr. K K Joshi, Vice Chairman of BLSKS, drew attention to the alarming rise in drug addiction statistics in Jammu and Kashmir and underscored the organization’s multifaceted efforts in promoting Dogra culture and combating substance abuse. The musical extravaganza showcased the talents of singers, musicians, and actors, including Usha Raina, Mahesh Chander Kotwal, Raju Bajgal, Bindia Okheda, Rajni Gupta, Sanjeev Kumar Sodhi, Rahul Kumar, and many others. Master Deepak Kumar concluded the event with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude for the successful execution of the program. The program was recorded and uploaded online on social media platforms, extending its impact beyond the confines of the auditorium, and reaching a wider audience for the benefit of society. With its blend of cultural richness and social consciousness, the musical play “Nasha Nahi Karna” left an indelible mark, reaffirming the power of art in inspiring positive change and fostering community harmony. |
