Early Times Report JAMMU, May 21: The Inter Zonal District Level Cricket Competition for U-14 boys, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports of District Jammu, concluded today at Govt. High School Jammu Cantt. The event, aimed at identifying the best young talent for upcoming competitions, saw enthusiastic participation and impressive performances from the young cricketers. The competition was held under the patronage of Director Youth Services and Sports JK UT, Subhash Chander Chibber (JKAS), and guided by Joint Director Youth Services and Sports Jammu, Ved Parkash (JKAS). The overall supervision was managed by Ram Murti on behalf of DYSSO Jammu, Sunil Kumar. The final match witnessed Zone Jammu triumphing over Zone Satwari by 9 wickets. Zone Satwari won the toss and elected to bat first, setting a target of 107 runs with the loss of 2 wickets. Rakshit emerged as the top scorer for Zone Satwari with 47 not out, while Mannan contributed 12 runs. Adyan from Zone Jammu showcased his bowling prowess by taking 2 crucial wickets. In response, Zone Jammu achieved the target in 12.4 overs, scoring 108 runs for the loss of just 1 wicket. Adyan continued his stellar performance with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 48 runs, while Chetanya added 28 not out, leading their team to a comfortable victory. Adyan's all-round performance earned him the Man of the Match title. Surjit Singh of Zone Satwari was named Man of the Series for his exceptional bowling throughout the competition, taking a total of 11 wickets. The prize distribution ceremony was graced by ZPEO Satwari, who congratulated the winners and runner-up teams and extended his best wishes for their future endeavors. The event was supported by several officials from District Jammu, including Jasdev Singh, Ravinder Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Sandeepan Sharma, Sat Paul Singh, Jagtar Singh, Suresh Singh, Mukesh Sharma, Payal Choudhary, Satika Sharma, and Dinesh Sharma.
