Ulema Conference emphasizes humanity, peace | | | Early Times Report RAJOURI, May 21: The message of humanity and peace in Islam resonated strongly at the Ulema Conference chaired by Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson of the Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board. The conference, held at the Shahdara Sharif Waqf Unit in Rajouri, brought together eminent religious scholars from the Pir Panjal region and prominent religious authorities from various Sufi schools of thought. The event saw participation from notable figures including former Member of Parliament Chowdhary Talib Hussain and Waqf Administrator Rajouri, Abdul Qayoom Mir. The conference unanimously resolved to propagate the Sufi spiritual traditions of Islam to younger generations, emphasizing the core teachings of inclusiveness and universal brotherhood as taught by the Prophet Muhammad. "The message of humanity and peace given by Islam resonated from the deliberations at the Conference. Inclusiveness and universal brotherhood as taught by the Prophet of Islam has to be highlighted and spread among the people. This is the way to strengthen the environment of peace and prosperity here," said Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi in her address. Dr. Andrabi also stressed the importance of making literature on the great spiritual icons of the land accessible to the new generation, underscoring the need for educational efforts to preserve and promote these rich spiritual traditions. The conference concluded with a call to action for all attendees to work towards fostering an environment of peace and harmony, guided by the timeless teachings of Sufi spirituality and Islamic principles. |
