DB takes serious note of Govt, directs RG to meet Law Secretary Commissioner/Secretary Finance Department | Shetty Pay Commission | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 21: In a petition is filed by the employees borne on the cadre of Subordinate Courts through JEWA State seeking implementation of Shetty Commission Report so far as recommendations pertaining to the Ministerial staff working in the Subordinate Courts in the State of Jammu and Kashmir are concerned, which was agreed to by the State Government and, to pay the arrears which are admissible to the Ministerial Staff working in the Subordinate Courts by implementing the Shetty Commission report w.e.f. 01.04.2003. When the contempt petition came-up for hearing, A Division Bench of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court Comprising Atul Sreedharan and Justice Puneet Gupta after hearing Sr. Adv Sunil Sethi observed that Order dated 25.04.2024 passed by this Court is still pending compliance. Additional queries have been sent from one of the contemnors to the High Court. DB is of the opinion that the contemnors are trying to procrastinate the proceedings, the contempt petition is pending since 2017 and DB propose to give this case a quietus before Summer Vacation which commences from 8th June, and so, Division Bench deem it necessary to request the Worthy Registrar General of this Court to forthwith call for a meeting with the Law Secretary and the Commissioner/Secretary Finance Department latest by 26.05.2024 to find out the solution so that this Court may pass appropriate orders on the next date of hearing i.e 29.05.2024. DB further directed that a copy of this order under the signature of the Bench Secretary be delivered to the AG Office for intimating the same to the Law Secretary and the Finance Secretary.
