NEW DELHI, June 1: YCET College successfully hosted a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) in collaboration with the Spoken Tutorial project of IIT Bombay. This initiative was aimed at enhancing the technical skills and innovative teaching methodologies of the faculty members across various departments. Each department selected courses tailored to their specific needs. The Civil and Mechanical Engineering departments focused on the Blender course, the Electrical Engineering and Applied Science departments opted for the Drupal course, and the Computer Engineering department chose the Web Development course. The main goal of the FDP was to equip faculty members with advanced technical skills, thereby improving the quality of education offered at YCET.
The Spoken Tutorial Project, developed by IIT Bombay and funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), has been a cornerstone in advancing technical education. YCET has been associated with IIT Bombay since 2018, demonstrating a strong commitment to providing rigorous training programs that complement the co-curricular activities. This commitment ensures that both faculty and students become more employable and can overcome various technological challenges. YCET's dedication to excellence in education was recognized when it received the Bright Institute Award at the National Level Conclave on Spoken Tutorial Teaching Learning Practices 2022, held at the Victor Menezes Convention Center (VMCC), IIT Bombay. The FDP was attended by key figures from YCET, including the Central Coordinator of the Spoken Tutorial Project, Er.
