Police registers 6 FIRs, arrests 8 bovine Smugglers, Seizes 2 Vehicles and Rescues 87 Bovines | | | Early Times Report
Ramban, June 1: Jammu and Kashmir Police Continuing its drive against the bovine smugglers and their propagators under Operation KAMDHENU, Ramban Police under the supervision of SSP Ramban Shri Anuj Kumar-IPS has foiled bovine smuggling attempts, registered 06 FIRs arrested 08 bovine smugglers, rescued 87 bovines and seized 02 vehicles. Police team of Police station Batote headed by SHO Batote while performing vehicle checking duty intercepted two vehicles, held 02 persons. During checking 10 bovines were found laden inside both the vehicles, which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally. In another instance Police team of Police Station Ramsoo headed by SHO Ramsoo during patrolling duty held one person who was taking 08 bovines on foot towards Kashmir without any permission. In another instance, Police Party of PS Gool headed by SHO Gool held one person who was taking 11 bovines on foot towards kashmir without any permission. In another instance Police Party of PS Banihal headed by SHO Banihal held 04 persons who were taking 58 bovines on foot towards kashmir without permission of Competent Authority. As a result, a total of 87 bovine Animals were rescued under the operation "KAMDHENU." Subsequently, FIR No. 79/2024, 80/2024 registered at Police Station Batote, FIR No.72/2024 registered at Police Station Ramsoo, FIR No. 44/2024 at PS Gool and FIR Nos. 89/2024 and 90/2024 registered at Police station Banihal under relevant sections of law. The investigation has been initiated into these cases. 08 persons arrested and 02 vehicles involved in the commission of offence have been seized. |
