Reasi police tightens noose on bovine smugglers, 13 bovine rescued | | | Early Times Report REASI, June 4: In a swift and effective operation, the Police Post Dhansal successfully foiled an attempt at bovine smuggling in the Lapri Top area. Acting on a tip-off from a reliable source, the police received information that some individuals were transporting bovine animals on foot from Lapri Top towards Kashmir for illegal sale. Upon receiving this crucial information, a police team was immediately dispatched to the location. The police party arrived promptly and apprehended two individuals involved in the smuggling operation. The suspects were identified as Mohd Nazir, son of Mohd Shafi, resident of Khandihar, Tehsil Katra, District Reasi, and Parviaz Ahmed, son of Abdul Rashid, resident of Dugga, Tehsil Arnas, District Reasi. The suspects were found in possession of five bovine animals, which they were transporting without any valid permission from the concerned authorities. The police have taken the animals into custody and are conducting further investigations to ascertain the full extent of the smuggling operation. This successful interception underscores the commitment of the Dhansal police to combating illegal activities and ensuring the rule of law. The police urge the public to continue providing valuable information that can help in preventing such unlawful activities. On this, Case FIR No. 44/2024 U/S 188 IPC 11 (1) PCA Act stands registered at P/S Arnas and investigation initiated to unearth the forward and backward linkages. |
