Police registers 8 FIRs, arrests 8 smugglers, seize 7 vehicles | | | Early Times Report RAMBAN, June 5: Jammu and Kashmir Police Continuing its drive against the bovine smugglers and their propagators under Operation KAMDHENU, Ramban Police has foiled 08 bovine smuggling attempts, registered 08 FIRs arrested 08 bovine smugglers, rescued 64 bovines and seized 07 vehicles. Police team of Police station Batote headed by SHO Batote while performing vehicle checking duty intercepted 03 vehicles, held 03 persons. During checking 28 bovines were found laden inside 03 vehicles, which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally.SHO Batote intercepted one more person who was taking 06 Bovines on foot towards Kashmir without any permission. In another instance Police team of Police Station Ramban headed by SHO Ramban during vehicle checking duty intercepted a vehicle and held one persons.During checking 10 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally. In another instance Police Party of PS Banihal headed by SHO Banihal during vehicle checking duty intercepted 03 vehicles, held 03 persons. During checking 20 bovines were found laden inside 03 vehicles which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally towards kashmir without permission of Competent Authority. As a result, a total of 64 bovine Animals were rescued under the operation "KAMDHENU." Subsequently, FIR No. 80/2024, 81/2024, 82/2024, 83/2024 were registered at Police Station Batote, FIR No.129/2024 registered at Police Station Ramban, FIR Nos. 91/2024, 93/2024 and 94/2024 registered at Police station Banihal under relevant sections of law and investigation initiated into these cases. |
