Jammu, June 5: Amit Kapoor, the president of the local Parents Association and a leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), was arrested today at the city bus stand with Rs 5 lakhs in cash. The arrest followed a tip-off received by the police, leading to Kapoor’s apprehension on charges of blackmail and extortion. Avinash Gupta, a government employee, has come forward with allegations that Kapoor blackmailed him with threats of career-damaging exposure. Police confirmed the arrest and stated that an investigation is ongoing to uncover the full extent of Kapoor’s alleged activities and any potential accomplices.
