Early Times Report JAMMU, June 10: A group of enthusiastic trekkers from St. Xavier Convent Sr. Sec. School, Barnai, Jammu, have returned to the city after an exhilarating trekking expedition in the mighty Dhauladhar ranges of Himachal Pradesh. This adventure was part of the Dharmshala Himalayan Trekking Programme organized by Tawi Trekkers J&K, a voluntary, non-profit sports and social service organization dedicated to fostering a spirit of adventure and love for nature among all segments of society, without any distinction of color, caste, or creed. The highlight of the programme was a 4km trek from Bhagshu Nag to Dharamkot and to the flag point, which the young trekkers thoroughly enjoyed. In addition to their trekking adventures, the group visited various heritage sites, tourist attractions, and other significant places in the region. They also had the opportunity to explore a sprawling tea garden and a tea manufacturing company, where they learned about the complete process of tea production. The trekking group was led by the club's President, Shawetica Khajuria, and senior member Vikas Singh. Sonam Sidharth, the General Secretary of the club, served as the Field Director of the programme, with Suksham Verma and Sourav Deep Singh acting as camp leaders and escorts. Following the successful completion of this trek, the next group, comprising students from Government College for Women, Parade, Jammu, is set to depart for the trek on June 11, 2023. They will be followed by trekkers from The Shri Ram Universal School and several other schools from Jammu and Udhampur.
