Jammu, June 25: The Community Radio Station of the University of Jammu, 91.2 FM Dhwani JU, began a two-week Summer Internship Program for the students of Govt College for Women, Parade Ground, Jammu. This program offers an unparalleled opportunity for budding media professionals to gain practical experience and invaluable insights by working closely with seasoned Radio Jockeys and industry experts. The program emphasizes practical learning through hands-on training. Interns will have the chance to work in a fully operational radio station environment, learning the intricacies of radio production, live broadcasting, and technical operations. This real-world experience will be invaluable for students looking to build a career in media. Another highlight of the Internship Program is a series of comprehensive workshops which will include voice modulation, scriptwriting, content creation, and on-air presentation skills. Conducted by experienced Radio Jockeys and media professionals, these sessions will equip students with the essential skills required to excel in the broadcasting field. The structured workshops and hands-on training will enhance students’ technical and creative skills, making them well-prepared for a dynamic career in media. Overall, the Internship will help bridge the gap between the student and professional life. On the first day of the program, the Interns got an opportunity to interact with renowned RJ, Juhie Mohan from 92.7 BIG FM, who dwelled upon voice modulation and on-air presentation skills. This was followed by a technical session conducted by Mr Nitish Arora, Programme Executive at All India Radio, New Delhi, who shared his vast experience in the field of radio production, providing effective guidance to the young Interns. Earlier in the day, Prof Monika Chadha, Convenor, 91.2 FM Dhwani JU, gave a detailed insight into the modalities of the working of the CRS. A practical training session in the studio of 91.2 FM was also conducted by Mr Tushar Bhardwaj, Programming Assistant at 91.2 FM Dhwani JU. The Community Radio Station of the University of Jammu is dedicated to cultivating future media professionals. This internship program demonstrates the commitment of JU to offering students an excellent beginning to their careers. It is pertinent to mention that the University of Jammu, under the dynamic leadership of the hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof Umesh Rai, became the first University in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to establish a Community Radio Station, which was formally inaugurated by Sh. Manoj Sinha, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor J&K UT. 91.2 FM Dhwani JU provides a platform to the students, faculty and local people to express themselves and showcase their creativity.
