Agencies NEW DELHI, June 30: On the invitation of the Hon'ble Union Youth Affairs & Sports Minister of India, Mansukh Mandaviya, the Wushu Association of India, under the leadership of its President, S. Jatinder Singh Bajwa, held a productive meeting with the Hon'ble Minister. The meeting aimed to discuss the progress and future support for the Wushu game in India. The delegation led by President S. Jatinder Singh Bajwa included key association members: Vijay Saraf, General Secretary of the Association, and Executive Members Sohail and Sudershan. The President expressed gratitude to the Union Minister for the continuous support from his ministry and the government in promoting Wushu, helping to elevate India's status in the international arena of this sport. In recognition of the Union Minister's support, S. Jatinder Singh Bajwa presented a memento to Mansukh Mandaviya and provided an overview of the Wushu Association of India's activities and achievements. Vijay Saraf, a prominent social figure and businessman from Jammu & Kashmir and the General Secretary of the Wushu Association of India, as well as the President of the Jammu and Kashmir Wushu Association, delivered a detailed presentation. He highlighted the association's efforts in promoting Wushu at sub-junior, junior, and senior levels. He commended the Union Sports Ministry and the Jammu and Kashmir administration, particularly Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, for their unwavering support to the association and players, contributing to the game's national and international recognition. Saraf also mentioned the significant contributions of Kuldeep Handoo, an international coach and Dronacharya awardee from Jammu & Kashmir, in grooming players for international competitions. He praised Sarmad Hafeez, Commissioner Secretary Sports J&K, and Nuzhat Gull, Secretary Sports J&K, for their consistent support towards Wushu in the region. The Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, expressed his appreciation for Saraf's efforts in promoting Wushu among the youth of Jammu & Kashmir. He assured the association of the ministry's ongoing support to help players excel on national and international platforms. The Minister also showed interest in participating in future Wushu events in Jammu & Kashmir. In conclusion, Saraf expressed his gratitude to the Union Sports Ministry and the J&K Lt. Governor for their continuous support in training and championship participations of Wushu sportspersons.
