Selection trial for J&K Junior Wushu team held at SKISC Srinagar

Srinagar, June 30: The Wushu Association of J&K conducts selection trial for the Junior Wushu team on 1-2nd July at SKISC Srinagar for the participation in the 23rd Junior National Wushu championship scheduled to be held in KPR college of Engineering Coimbatore (TN). Participants from 19 districts are likely to take part in the 02 days selection trial at Srinagar.
Pertinent to mention here that during the last edition, UT J&K Wushu team remained runners up in the championship. Wushu Association of India has decided to shortlist best probables in the National Championship through selection committee of the Wushu Association of India for the participation in the Junior World Wushu Championship at Brunie from 22-30th September 2024.
The Selection committee for the selection trial are as under
1. Kuldeep Handoo (Dronacharya Awardee) Chairman
2. Maqsood Rather (Jt. Secretary KMR) Member
3. Faisal Ali (Padmashree Awardee) Member
4. Ajaz Hassan (International Player) Member
5. Sher Bhadur (International Player) Member
6. Observer from JKSC Member
Weigh In for all the athletes will be held at SKISC Srinagar upto 9AM followed by fixtures and draw of lots.
The Bouts and Taolu events will take place after 2PM up to 6PM and on 2nd July from Morning 9AM till conclusion.
The Coaching camp for the preparation of the 23rd Junior National being organised by the J&K Sports Council will take place from 3rd July to 23rd July at SKISC Srinagar and the team will leave for the championship on 23rd July 2024. All the players are advised to bring Medical Fitness certificate, Passport, Aadhar card for the selection trial.
