Amid infighting Rahul’s one-to-one meeting with Bhalla raises many eyebrows

Jammu, July 2: A one-to-one meeting of former Minister and working president of J&K Congress Raman Bhalla with Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has raised many eyebrows within the local unit of the party. Amidst infighting within the J&K unit of the party, Rahul Gandhi’s one-to-one meeting with Raman Bhalla attached importance because he (Bhalla) is considered a neutral face and he is the tallest Hindu face of the party in Jammu province. Highly placed sources said that after meeting with over two dozen officer-bearers of the party from Jammu and Kashmir on June 27, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi individually called for a one-to-one to seek his feedback about the cause of infighting in the J&K unit of the party.
Sources said that in the meeting which was held on June 27 in which leaders of both warring factions were called, Rahul Gandhi listened to the suggestions of the party leaders who were present in the meeting.
Expecting some remarks Rahul Gandhi preferred to only listen to the participants.
“After the conclusion of the meeting, Rahul Gandhi called Raman Bhalla into his chamber to seek his feedback about working on the party in J&K”, sources said, adding, “After one-to-one

As reported earlier, on June 27, Congress high command called leaders of the different factions in Delhi to solve the problem of infighting.
The high-command has asked leaders of the Jammu and Kashmir unit to iron out their differences and work unitedly to face BJP in the coming Assembly polls in the Union Territory.
The much-publicized meeting of the J&K Congress leaders with the top leadership of the party was held today in New Delhi under the chairmanship of Mallikarjun Kharge. Party leader Rahul Gandhi and All India General Secretary (Organization) K C Venugopal were also present in the meeting which lasted for two hours.
After the meeting, J&K Congress chief Vikar Rasool Wani told media persons that the high command has given clear directions to all leaders to work unitedly to form the party's government in J&K.
"All senior leaders from J&K including AICC general secretary Ghulam Ahmed Mir, Congress Working Committee president Tariq Hamid Karra, and working president of J&K Congress Raman Bhalla were present in the meeting", Wani said and asserted that Congress will form its own government in J&K.
