DC Kathua listens to people’s grievances at Juthana

KATHUA, July 3: District Development Commissioner Kathua Dr. Rakesh Minhas today presided over weekly Block Diwas proceedings at village Juthana and took stock of grievances and demands of people of the area.
The camp witnessed an overwhelming response from all sections of the society. The people apprised the DDC of issues being faced by the locals and sought his intervention in redressing the same.
The PRI members and Locals put forth the issues concerning their respective areas seeking up-gradation of local GHS to next level, development of a playground in the School, provision for Allopathic Dispensary, provision for Medical officer for monsoon season, Upgradation of electric transformer and requirement of more line workers, Upgradation of Lift irrigation projects, Completion of Juthana Bridge, Crates for flood protection, and Ration card bifurcation. The people also sought measures to resolve the problem of water shortage.
After giving a patient hearing, the DC Kathua assured people that all their genuine issues will be redressed with the active participation of the concerned departments.
Regarding the Up-gradation of GHS juthana, the DC asked the CEO to prepare a proposal project the same to higher ups. He further assured that a volleyball court will be developed on the school playground.
Regarding the demand for the provision of a Medical Officer in Juthana, the DC asked the CMO to depute a Medical Officer once a week who will operate from the local Ayush centre.
Pertaining to the low lying HT electric wires, electricity shortage, and high bills, the DC asked the XEN PDD to make arrangements for lifting of electric wires, upgradation of Transformer and to inspect the cases of high bills.
Regarding lift irrigation upgradation, the DC informed that the district administration has allotted Rs 33 lakh for the same and the work will start soon after the problem of sinking and sliding is sorted out.
For cattle sheds and crates for the protection of land from flash floods, the DC asked the BDO to make arrangements for crate work and Cattle shed for widows under MGNREGA.
Regarding the water scarcity problem, the DC informed that the alternate source of water has been arranged, and the supply from it shall start within a week.
Pertaining to the drainage system alongside the PMGSY road, the DC asked the XEN PMGSY to visit and find a way to develop the same.
