Jammu, July 8: Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences & Hospital (ASCOMS), Sidhra, Jammu, in collaboration with the J&K Chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India (JAKASI), organized a Mega Health Camp today at the border area of Akhnoor (Mera Mandrian). The camp, held from 9 am to 3 pm, witnessed the participation of a dedicated team of medical professionals and support staff. The ASCOMS team was led by Dr. Harbinder Singh Bali, Senior Laparoscopic Surgeon, along with Dr. R. S. Ghai, Urologist, Dr. Anitipal Singh, Orthopaedician, Dr. Supreet, Dermatologist, and resident doctors from the departments of Medicine, Surgery, and Gynaecology. They were supported by paramedical and other staff from ASCOMS. Approximately 250 patients received treatment across various specialties, with a significant emphasis on preventive healthcare. In addition to free consultations, patients were also provided with free medicines. Notably, the camp conducted Uroflowmetry tests for 31 patients and Blood Glucose testing for around 145 patients, ensuring appropriate treatment based on the results. The success of the camp was attributed to the full cooperation and support from the local administration and the people of the area, ensuring smooth conduct and accessibility of medical services to the community. Such initiatives by ASCOMS and JAKASI play a crucial role in extending quality healthcare services to remote and underserved areas, reaffirming their commitment to community health and well-being. |
