NCC Unit of Maulana Azad Memorial College Jammu hosts Annual Rank Ceremony for 2024-25

JAMMU, July 9: The NCC Unit of Maulana Azad Memorial College Jammu proudly hosted its annual Rank Ceremony for the National Cadet Corps (NCC) for the session 2024-25 on July 9, 2024. The event celebrated the commendable achievements of its cadets under the leadership of Dr. B. B. Anand, Principal of the college, and Prof. Shiv Kumar, NCC officer, with distinguished Chief Guest Colonel R. S. Jasrotia, SM**, Commanding Officer of the 2 J&K Battalion NCC Jammu, in attendance.
Dr. B. B. Anand, Principal of the college, expressed immense pride in the cadets' accomplishments, reiterating the institution's unwavering support for the NCC program, which plays a pivotal role in shaping disciplined and responsible citizens. Col. R. S. Jasrotia, the commanding officer of the 2 J&K Battalion NCC Unit, extended his congratulations to the cadets on achieving ranks in the NCC. He appreciated their dedication, discipline, and commitment to excellence, encouraging them to embody the values of integrity, discipline, unity, and character building. Col. Jasrotia also emphasized the importance of mentorship in nurturing talent and upholding the principles of discipline, teamwork, and personal growth.
During the ceremony, the Army wing of MAM NCC launched their annual magazine, "Smarpan 2024," highlighting the achievements and activities of the year. The cadets presented the annual report, detailing the names of those who have successfully joined the defense forces in recent years. Notably, Ex-Cadet Charanjeet Singh Gill was commissioned as a Flying Officer from the Airforce Academy in Dundigal on June 15, 2024. Additionally, SUO Vireshwar Singh Manhas was among the 13 cadets selected to attend the Youth Exchange Program in Vietnam.
The event concluded with the appointment of new rank holders who demonstrated exemplary leadership and performance. The newly appointed SUOs are Zorawar Singh and Abhinandan Sharma. Tushant Gupta, Purab Kumar, Lovesh Singh Manhas, and Sunit Sharma were appointed as JUOs.
In his concluding remarks, Prof. Shiv Kumar, NCC officer, thanked Principal Dr. B. B. Anand and Col. R. S. Jasrotia for their continuous support and encouragement towards the NCC program. He congratulated all the well-deserved rank holders and wished them success, reminding them to uphold the values of leadership, integrity, and service learned through NCC.
