DODA, July 9: An important meeting of the print media fraternity was held at the District Information Centre in Doda. The meeting was chaired by District Information Officer (DIO), Rajinder Kumar Digra, who provided an overview of various parameters suitable for media operations across the district. A comprehensive discussion on multiple aspects of print media execution was conducted, highlighting the need for coordination and dedication among media personnel. The DIO emphasized the importance of fostering newspaper reading habits among children, noting that the rise of digital media has led to a decline in traditional newspaper readership. He urged the media fraternity to ensure that newspapers are readily available at district headquarters to maintain their presence and relevance. During the meeting, media personnel raised various issues, grievances and demands, which the DIO assured to address promptly. Additionally, the DIO recommended regular meetings of the media fraternity at the District Information Centre to ensure proper functioning and execution of print media. Furthermore, discussions included potential strategies for enhancing the quality of print media, such as improving content standards, increasing community engagement, and leveraging digital platforms to complement traditional media. The DIO also stressed the importance of ethical journalism and the role of the media in promoting informed and educated societies. |
