Cyber Cell recovers, refund Rs 2 lakh of complainant

JAMMU, July 21: The Cyber Cell of District Reasi has successfully solved an online financial fraud case, recovering and refunding Rs 200,000 to the victim, Devinder Kumar, S/O Mulkh Raj from Pouni, Tehsil & District Reasi.
Upon receiving the complaint regarding an online money scam, the Cyber Cell, under the directions of SSP Reasi Mohita Sharma-IPS, acted promptly and started investigation on it. The Police Team of Cyber Cell Reasi, known for its comprehensive approach towards cyber-crimes, efficiently investigated the case, leading to the recovery and refund of the defrauded amount to the victim's account.
The Cyber Cell of District Reasi comprises of well-trained officials adept at handling various financial frauds, including KYC update frauds, OLX frauds, banking and investment-related frauds, fake loan app frauds, and social media blackmailing. The District Police Reasi urges the general public to remain vigilant, avoid sharing personal credentials online or offline, refrain from clicking unknown links, and be wary of too-good-to-be-true investment opportunities or work-from-home offers.
The public is encouraged to promptly report any suspicious online activity to the National Cybercrime Helpline Number 1930 or the Reasi Cyber Cell Helpline Number 7051003220. Additionally, citizens can lodge complaints online at www.cybercrime.gov.in and report lost or stolen mobile phones at www.ceir.gov.in.
District Police Reasi, equipped with advanced technology and skilled personnel, remains committed to protecting the community from cyber criminals and ensuring justice for victims of cyber fraud.
