| Say no to drugs lecture on drug abuse at Naili | | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI, July 21: Mental health issues, performance pressure, growing emptiness, social networking and changing socio-economic conditions are affecting the youth of the country and making them vulnerable to addictive distraction. The abuse of drugs and alcohol is by far the leading cause of preventable illness and premature death in our society. Indian Army with this aim, has organized a lecture to spread awareness on the dangers of drug abuse amongst the teenagers and its ill effects in the society of Naili, Rajouri. The focus of the awareness lecture was to further educate local people about increasing drug menace and its harmful effects, both physically and mentally. Local people were made aware as to how one time use of drugs to deal with stress or to get a momentary high or to just 'fit in' with his or her peers, affect their lives as well as their family. The attendees were also informed about the ill effects of Tobacco consumption & how does it leads to oral cancer among people. The locals expressed their gratitude towards Indian Army for organizing such awareness programs and seminar on social Issues. |
