Hardcore criminal evading arrest arrested with sharp edged weapon by police

SAMBA, July 27: Police has arrested a hardcore criminal with sharp edged weapon in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal, district Samba.
A police party of Police Station Ghagwal headed by SHO PS Ghagwal during vehicle checking Naka at NHW Tapyal, signalled to stop a vehicle bearing registration No. UP16AM- 5605 which was coming from Kathua enroute jammu for its checking. On seeing Police Party, the driver of the vehicle accelerated the speed and tried to hit the police naka party with the intention to kill them. Alert cops successfully intercepted the said vehicle but the person driving the vehicle suddenly came out of the vehicle with sharp edged weapon (Toka) in his hand and tried to attack on police officials discharging their legitimate duties.
The accused driver was arrested and was identified as Pritam Singh @Sethi S/o Mohan Singh R/o Jerda Nandpur Tehsil Ramgarh District Samba and a sharp edged weapon(Toka) was also seized.
A case FIR No.111/2024 U/S 109/132 BNS and 4/25 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
It is pertinent to mention that Pritam Singh @Sethi is a hardcore criminal and isJamm has been evading arrest since long while involved in many FIRs registered at different Police Stations of district Samba, Kathua and Jammu including FIR No. 13/2019 U/S 382/323/147 RPC of PS Vijaypur, FIR No. 82/2019 U/S 323/427/452/201 IPC 4/25 Arms Act, FIR No. 78/2020 U/S 307/341/323 IPC, FIR No. 40/2016 U/S 341/323/34 RPC, FIR No. 29/2018 U/S 341/323/34 RPC of PS Ramgarh, FIR No. 188/2019 U/S 307/451/147/148/382 /323 RPC of PS Rajbagh, FIR No. 91/2021 U/S 307/120-B IPC 3/25 Arms ACT of PS Gandhi Nagar Jammu, FIR No. 42/2022 U/S 3/25 Arms Act of PS R.S Pura Jammu, FIR No. 94/2023 U/S 323/506/147 IPC 3/4/25 Arms Act of P/S Bishnah Jammu.
