Jammu, July 30: The Skill Gap Survey Report was officially unveiled by Sh. Abhishek Sharma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Samba, in the presence of a team of faculty members from School of Business Studies which was conducted by a project team under the patronage of Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu. The report is the outcome of a project sponsored by the District Skills Committee Samba under SANKALP. Deputy Commissioner Samba has been instrumental in conducting a skill gap survey for the region. The report is a comprehensive documentation of the available skills and the required skill sets for the region. It shall act as a policy document for furthering the recommendations to the Government for interventions in the area. It is outcome of pilot study of the report that Central University of Jammu in collaboration with Tourist office Samba under the guidance of Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor Central University of Jammu and Sh Abhishek Sharma, DC Samba conducted a course on Homestay Entrepreneurship Development Programme for youth of district Samba under SANKALP for which the MoU was signed between District Skill Committee, Samba and School of Business Studies, Central University of Jammu in the presence of Hon’ble LG Shri Manoj Sinha . The focus of the report is to give clear recommendations for imparting practical skills to youth and entrepreneurs across the region in diverse areas It is pertinent to mention here that project team comprising of Prof. Jaya Bhasin, Dr. Shahid Mushtaq, Dr. Neelika Arora and Dr. Anju Thapa have submitted a comprehensive report on Skill Gap Survey in the presence of Sh. Kasturi Lal, Joint Director Planning, Principal, Polytechnic College, Samba, ITI Superintendent and other officers from the office of DC Samba. |
