Early Times Report JAMMU, July 30: GS Sports Club, in collaboration with RM Public School Chowadi, organized a plantation and awareness program aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and community involvement. The event was graced by distinguished guests and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty. The Chief Guest of the event, Ashok Thukaan (JKAS), who serves as the Financial Advisor and CAO for the Tribal Affairs Department J&K, IWMP and JKPTC, inaugurated the program. In his address, Mr. Thukaan highlighted the importance of environmental conservation and the role of youth in fostering a greener future. Ajay Sharma (JKPS), SP South Jammu, honoured the event as the Guest of Honor. He commended the efforts of GS Sports Club and RM Public School for organizing such an impactful initiative and encouraged continued community engagement in environmental causes. The event was led by Atul Sudan, President of GS Sports Club, alongside Rameshwar Mengi, Chairman of RM Public School, and Rakshan Mengi, Director of RM Public School. Their leadership and dedication were instrumental in the success of the program. During the event, approximately 50 saplings of ornamental plants were planted around the school premises, symbolizing a commitment to enhancing the local environment and fostering biodiversity. The plantation was followed by an awareness seminar, where experts discussed the significance of tree planting, conservation practices, and the benefits of a green environment. Chairman Rameshwar Mengi, in his speech, expressed his gratitude to all participants and guests, emphasizing the critical role of such programs in educating and empowering the younger generation. He also reiterated the club's commitment to organizing more such events in the future. The program concluded with a pledge from all attendees to actively contribute to environmental conservation efforts and promote sustainable practices in their communities. |
