GDC Ramgarh organizes two day skill workshop

JAMMU, July 30: NSS unit 'Prabha' of Govt Degree College Ramgarh, in collaboration with Rapial Mahila Mandal organized a two day skill workshop on 29-07-2024 and 30-07-2024 focusing on Nail art and Dori work. The workshop aimed to empower participants with hands-on training in popular crafts, enhancing their creativity and entrepreneurial skills. The whole event was organized under the able guidance and supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of the College.
The first day focused on Nail Art where participants immersed themselves in the art of nail decoration, learning various techniques and designs under expert guidance of resource persons namely Ms. Preetpal Kour and Ms. Parveen Kour. This session fostered creativity and precision among attendees, equipping them with marketable skills in the beauty industry.
The Second day of the workshop was dedicated to Soft Toy making and Dori Work, a traditional embroidery technique. Participants learned traditional stitching methods and explored innovative approaches to incorporate dori work and soft toy making into contemporary fashion and home decor. The resource persons included Ms. Tavinder Kour and Anju Bala.
The workshop commenced with a warm welcome address by Prof. Brahm Datt, PO NSS, acknowledging the importance of skill enhancement initiatives in educational settings. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Shivali Panjgotra, expressing gratitude to the President of the Rapial Mahila Mandal, Ravinder Kour the organizing team, and collaborators for their contributions to the workshop's success. Other distinguished faculty members, including Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Dr. Snobar, Prof. Sandeep Kumari, and Ashok Kumar, also attended the workshop, further enriching the learning experience.
