GDC Ramnagar hosts comprehensive anti-drug campaign

RAMNAGAR, Aug 13: In a significant step towards promoting a drug-free India, the NCORD Cell of Government Degree College (GDC) Ramnagar, under the leadership of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal, successfully organized a series of impactful activities as part of the nationwide Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. The event, held under the theme "Viksit Bharat Ka Mantra, Bharat Ho Nashe Se Swatantra," aimed to raise awareness and strengthen the fight against drug addiction.
The program began with a spirited Tiranga Rally and a Marathon, which saw enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty members. These events not only set a patriotic tone but also highlighted the collective resolve to combat the growing menace of drug abuse.
Following the rally, a Pledge Ceremony took place, where participants vowed to contribute to a drug-free society. This solemn moment underscored the importance of community efforts in eradicating substance abuse and reinforced the commitment of the attendees to this noble cause.
The day's highlight was a seminar titled "Ek Paryaas Nasha Mukti Ki Ore," where Dr. Pankaj Sharma delivered an insightful presentation on the challenges and strategies related to drug de-addiction. His thought-provoking talk sparked meaningful discussions and engaged the audience in a deep understanding of the issue.
In addition to educational and awareness activities, the event featured sports competitions, including table tennis and chess, which promoted a healthy and active lifestyle as a constructive alternative to substance use. These activities were designed to encourage the adoption of positive habits among the youth.
The event was meticulously coordinated by Dr. Sham Singh Kotwal, Convenor of the NCORD Cell, with the active support of Cell members-Prof. Sunil Kumar, Prof. Jeevan Kumar, Prof. Sanjay Malhotra, and Prof. Tanmeet Kour. Their collective efforts ensured the smooth execution of the program and its success in engaging the entire college community.
Esteemed faculty members, including Prof. Ashni, Dr. Kewal Kumar, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Pandita, Prof. Manmohan Singh, Prof. Sumita Roa, Prof. Jatinder Lal, Prof. Parminder Kumar, Prof. Mohd. Majeed, Prof. Sonia Raj, Prof. Ritika Mahajan, Prof. Eisha Gohil, Prof. Puyesh Kant Sahu, Prof. Pankaj Dabgotra, and Prof. Romesh Chander, graced the event with their presence, further highlighting the institution's unified commitment to fostering a drug-free environment.
The NCORD Cell of GDC Ramnagar remains steadfast in its mission to combat drug abuse through continuous awareness programs and community engagement initiatives.
