GDC Paloura celebrates Hindi Diwas

JAMMU, Sept 14: Govt. Degree College Paloura successfully organized a grand two-day celebration of Hindi Diwas, emphasizing the significance of the Hindi language and its rich cultural heritage. The event, held on September 13th and 14th, was led by the college Principal, Dr. Kulvinder Kour, and saw enthusiastic participation from students and faculty alike.
Day 1 of the celebration began with a vibrant poster-making competition, where students showcased their creativity and passion for the Hindi language through visually stunning designs. The artistic expressions were widely appreciated by the faculty members and judges, highlighting the students' deep connection to the language.
Day 2 shifted focus to literary and oratory events, starting with a poetry recitation competition that featured heartfelt and expressive renditions by students. This was followed by a series of engaging speeches on the role of Hindi in today's modern society. Students discussed the evolving status of Hindi, emphasizing its cultural importance and the need for its continued promotion in a rapidly changing world.
Principal Dr. Kulvinder Kour addressed the gathering, praising the students for their enthusiastic participation and highlighting the unifying role of Hindi in India's diverse cultural landscape. She encouraged students to take pride in the language and contribute to its growth and preservation.
The two-day event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where the top honors were awarded to Payal Devi (1st prize), Sonali Rajput (2nd prize), and Kirna Devi (3rd prize), all from Semester 5. The panel of judges for the competition included Prof. Pooja Sharma, Prof. Neha Bhagat, and Mr. Vikram Singh Jamwal, the college's PTI.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Seema Devi, HoD Hindi, and fostered a renewed appreciation for the Hindi language among both students and staff, leaving a lasting impact on the college community.
