Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 21: Kashmiri Pandit Conference ( KPC) Strongly Condemned the statement made by AIP Chief and Parliament member Engineer Rashid’ about Kashmiri Pandits in an interview on News-18 Network today.----- Kundan Kashmiri’, President KPC Kundan Kashmiri, President of the Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC), has strongly condemned the irresponsible and misleading statements made by Engineer Rashid, leader of the Awami Itihad Party (AIP) and Member of Parliament from Baramulla, during his recent interview with News-18 Network.
Engineer Rashid made baseless allegations against the displaced Kashmiri Pandit (KP) community, accusing and falsely claiming they receive a monthly amount of Rs 27,000 as relief, which supposedly discourages their return to the Kashmir Valley. He further played for resolution of so--called Kashmir and other issues.
Kundan Kashmiri vehemently refuted these claims, stating, "There is absolutely no truth in Engineer Rashid’s assertion that displaced Kashmiri Pandits are receiving Rs 27,000 per month. In reality, only a small section of displaced KP families, who have no other source of income, receive a meager amount of ₹3,225 per month as relief, not the monthly exaggerated ₹27,000 figure as claimed by Rashid."
Addressing Engineer Rashid's remarks regarding the alleged lack of interest among displaced KPs in returning to the Valley, Kundan Kashmiri responded forcefully, saying, "It was people like Engineer Rashid, who played a significant role in creating the circumstances that forced Kashmiri Pandits to flee their home and hearths, he should reflect on his own actions that led to this tragic exodus.of Kashmiri Pandits. It was he who organized a public beef party in the MLA hostel, openly challenging the sentiments of the nationalist forces and undermining the interests of the Indian nation. His speeches in and out side the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly have always been aimed at weakening India’s sovereignty and attacking the interests of Kashmiri Pandits and other nationalist groups."
Kundan Kashmiri further emphasized that Kashmir is, and will always remain, an integral part of India. "The abrogation of Article 370 has settled the issue of Jammu and Kashmir’s integration with the rest of the country. Any attempts to question this are futile. The aboriginals of Kashmir, the Kashmiri Pandits, have an undeniable claim over the land of Kashyap, the Kashmir Valley and will return to thier ancestors land on their own terms and conditions, not dictated by those who were responsible for their displacement."
President KPC further stated that it is high time for Engineer Rashid and his ilk to accept this reality and stop misleading the people with outdated narratives. Instead of raising false hopes, Engineer Rashid should first come clean about his alleged involvement in hawala activities and anti-national agendas, which have caused immense harm to both communities in Kashmir."
Kundan Kashmiri also reminded Engineer Rashid that both the Kashmiri Pandit community and the wider Indian society will never forget his role to destabilizing the region. He cannot absolve himself of his past actions by making false claims and pretending to care for Kashmiri Pandits now. The people of Jammu and Kashmir, as well as the rest of India, are well aware of the divisive politics he practice. The Kashmiri Pandit community will surely return to its rightful place in Kashmir valley ,but not at the mercy of those who caused their exile."
At the end, Kundan Kashmiri stated, "Engineer Rashid’s attempts to provoke and divide must be condemned in the strongest possible terms. His recent statements are nothing more than a desperate attempt to stay relevant in the political landscape. The Kashmiri Pandit community remains united, steadfast, and determined to return to its Kashyap Bhoomi with dignity and on their own terms. They call upon the government and all responsible citizens to reject Engineer Rashid’s divisive rhetoric and to continue supporting the rightful cause of the Kashmiri Pandits."
KPC stated that the Kashmiri Pandit community stands resolute in its quest for justice, peace, and the rightful return to rightful place at their own terms and conditions.
