Soil testing laboratory achieves NABL accreditation

Jammu, Sept 21: The Soil Testing Laboratory (STL) Jammu has proudly achieved accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for soil macro and micro nutrients testing.
The significant milestone was attained under the leadership and guidance of Arvinder Singh Reen, Director Agriculture Jammu, and the dedicated efforts of the Agriculture Chemist Jammu, Dr. Aman Jyoti Sharma, Assistant Soil Chemist Dr. Neeraj Rajwal, and the entire STL Jammu team.
The NABL, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, is renowned for providing accreditation to testing and calibration laboratories across various fields. As a Constituent Board of the Quality Council of India, NABL sets rigorous standards to enhance the efficacy and quality of testing laboratories. NABL is a certification that ensures that the laboratories have infrastructure and processes that are accepted nationally and internationally. NABL accreditation is provided by Quality Council of India. The Government of India mandates NABL accreditation for national testing labs to ensure compliance with these high standards.
Director Agriculture Jammu extended his heartfelt congratulations to the officers and team of STL Jammu. He commended their relentless efforts to meet NABL’s stringent requirements. "This recogniziation is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the STL Jammu team. It marks a significant enhancement in our laboratory’s capability to deliver precise and reliable results," said Director Reen.
The Soil Testing Laboratory Jammu is equipped with world class eqipments for analyzing macro and micro nutrients. Serving as a central laboratory, STL Jammu provides technical assistance to nine other soil testing laboratories in the region and also supports other Departmental STL's, MSc, PhD students from Central University and Jammu University by conducting analyses for their samples.
This accreditation not only strengthens STL Jammu’s commitment to quality but also highlights its vital role in advancing agricultural standards and practices throughout the region.
