| Health cum CBS Camp organised by JKSPYM | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 25: Jammu and Kashmir Society for the Promotion of Youth and Masses (JKSPYM) running a Targeted Intervention Project for Injecting Drug Users (PWIDs) administered by Jammu and Kashmir AIDS Control Society (JKACS), Dept. of Health and Medical Education under National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India organised a Health cum CBS Camp at Village panchayat Kandoli Nagrota Jammu. It is privileged to witness the presence and guidance of Dr. Kavita Sharma (MBBS). The camp was organised with the help and presence of respected Sarpanch Sh. Kishor Kumar Sharma ji. Free medicines were distributed to those who were in need. During the Health camp the gathering was informed about HIV/AIDS and STIs. People were also informed about Hepatitis and its harms. Public was screened for TB and were told about importance of HIV Testing and hence the HIV and Syphilis screening tests were also conducted. They were also informed about OST and other ways of Harm Reduction. We also distributed IEC material to general and high-risk population under Intensified IEC Campaign. We thank everyone who participated in the camps and hence reduced the health burden of the UT of J&K by learning and promising to practice safe behaviours. |
