BJP candidate Mohan Lal unveils Sankalp Patra for Akhnoor Assembly | | | Early Times Report AKHNOOR, Sept 29: BJP candidate Mohan Lal Bhagat released his 25-point manifesto aimed at the development of the Akhnoor Assembly during a press conference held at the BJP City Office in Akhnoor. The event was attended by election in-charge and Vice Chairman of the Jammu District Development Council, Suraj Singh, Assembly Coordinator Sobha Ram Sharma, BJP Mandal President Akhnoor Sham Singh, Pargwal Mandal President Bhupinder Singh, Jaurian Mandal President Manga Ram, former NAPA President Surinder Sharma, former NAPA President Sanjay Saraf, along with other council members, sarpanches, panches, and BJP workers. In his address, Mohan Lal Bhagat highlighted the main points of his manifesto, emphasizing his vision to lead Akhnoor on a new path of development. He stressed the need to establish Akhnoor as a separate district, stating that this would create opportunities for employment, business, and overall development. Among the promises, he pledged to secure compensation for landowners whose property falls under the jurisdiction of the Defense Department. He assured that any pending compensations would be settled promptly, with timely payments ensured in the future. Bhagat also vowed to transform Akhnoor into a major religious and historical tourist destination in Jammu and Kashmir. He outlined plans to develop several key historical sites, such as Jia Pota Ghat, Sumah Devsthan, Ambaran, Akhnoor Fort, and Harimandir Ghat. Additionally, he proposed the construction of a suspension bridge over the Chenab River from Jia Pota Ghat to Gurha Pattan, aiming to develop the area similarly to Haridwar. Further, Bhagat emphasized the importance of fortifying the banks of the Chenab River to protect agricultural lands from annual flood damage. Revival of the Town's Old Hospital Bhagat announced plans to reopen parts of the old sub-district hospital building in Akhnoor town, with two key departments of the hospital set to operate from the old facility. He also placed a strong emphasis on improving sports facilities in Akhnoor, promising to enhance both indoor and outdoor sports stadiums to encourage youth participation in sports. Moreover, Bhagat committed to reviewing and improving the smart meter system. To generate employment for local youth, Bhagat pledged to expedite the construction of the Sungal-Sohal industrial unit and revive closed industrial units in Akhnoor. Reforms in Mining Policies Addressing the region's mining policies, Bhagat proposed the implementation of a mining policy that would be more beneficial to the public, ensuring that essential materials like sand, gravel, and stones are available at minimal costs. He also promised to work towards the development of the local business community by collaborating with traders from Akhnoor, Jaurian, Pargwal, and other areas to boost market growth. Bhagat's manifesto includes a commitment to settle the outstanding liabilities of the 2017-18 MGNREGA scheme. He further promised to introduce a proposal in the Assembly to regularize temporary workers employed in various government departments. Commitment to Protect Hindu Faith and Promote Development Mohan Lal Bhagat criticized Congress and the National Conference, accusing them of undermining Hindu faith. He emphasized that the time has come for Jammu and Kashmir to have its first Hindu Dogra Chief Minister, someone who would prioritize patriotism and development. Call to Make Akhnoor a Model Assembly Concluding his address, Mohan Lal Bhagat urged the people of Akhnoor to support him with a patriotic and development-driven mindset. He stated that the upcoming election is a battle between patriots and anti-national forces. With the support of the people, he promised to transform Akhnoor into a model assembly, ensuring better employment, education, and healthcare services for everyone. He appealed to the public to support the BJP in this journey of development and help Akhnoor reach new heights. |
