Sham calls for effective measures to curb dengue menace in Jammu North

JAMMU, Oct 17: Senior BJP leader and MLA Jammu North, Sham Lal Sharma today said that Jammu people have given a decisive mandate to the party in the recently concluded assembly elections, which is the best performance of BJP. The party will re-double its efforts to fulfil the aspirations of the people of this region, he asserted.
Addressing a large gathering of party bearers, ground level workers and prominent citizens at a felicitation function organized by the BJP Muthi Paloura Mandal in his honour here today, Sham Lal Sharma said that BJP will play a constructive role of opposition and work for the overall welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The party will vociferously raise the important issues confronting the common man and make all out efforts to address these on priority. All the elected Members of BJP will work in unison to provide equal justice and share to every section of the society without any discrimination. He said that the Government and bureaucracy will be made accountable to address public issues on priority.
Listing some of the priorities for Jammu North constituency, Sharma said that initially he will focus on improving basic amenities like stepping up cleanliness drive and proper sanitation in every ward, regular water supply as per schedule, uninterrupted power supply, proper maintenance of street lights, replacing of faulty/worn out street lights, maintenance of lanes and drains, solution to traffic jams and eradicating the menace of drugs. He said there are reports of growing menace of drugs, and measures will be taken to curb it in coordination with social, religious organizations and enforcement agencies to save the youth from destruction.
Referring to growing cases of dengue in some wards of Jammu North, Sham Lal Sharma said that he has already taken up the issue with the Jammu Municipal Corporation and other concerned agencies to undertake effective measures to curb it. He also called upon the people to cooperate with the JMC/administration in maintaining cleanliness in their respective wards to control the mosquito related diseases.
He expressed gratitude to the party cadre, especially the ground level workers for their wonderful work during the elections that paved the way for a thumping win for the party. He dedicated this victory to every worker, who worked relentlessly in close coordination and exhibited a great sense of discipline that made the collective win, Sham noted.
Former MP and senior BJP leader, Shamsher Singh Manhas, District President, Omi Khajuria, District General Secretary, Ajay Sharma, Mandal President Muthi Paloura, Suresh Khajuria, Vice Chairperson, State Mahila Morcha, Smt. Vaishno Devi, senior leader Karan Singh felicitated the MLA for his thumping win in the Jammu North seat. They also thanked and encouraged the workers for their dedication and hard work during the elections that ensured the marvellous victory of BJP.
Ex-Corporators, all district and Mandal Parbharis, all Shakti Kendra heads, Booth heads, agents and several prominent party workers were present on the occasion.
