| MP Er Rashid visits Budgam, holds series of meetings | | | Early Times Report
BUDGAM, Oct 18: Member of Parliament (MP) Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency, Er Rashid Friday visited Budgam district to assess ongoing developmental projects and addressing the key concerns of the constituencies in Budgam that fall under the Baramulla parliamentary seat.
The meeting was attended by the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Budgam, Akshay Labroo and other district officers and officials.
During the review, Er Rashid emphasized the need for expediting infrastructure projects and ensuring effective service delivery to the public. He underscored the importance of addressing bottlenecks impeding developmental projects to facilitate general public.
Earlier, Er Rashid conducted inspection visit to District Hospital Budgam, where he interacted with medical staff and patients, assessing the hospital's infrastructure and the quality of services being provided.
He also visited Beerwah Hospital, where he sanctioned funds for the purchase of a laparoscopy machine and an oxygen refill plant, aimed at enhancing the hospital's capacity to deliver improved medical care to patients in the region.
Later, Er Rashid held a detailed meeting with the Geology and Mining Department, focusing on the sustainable extraction and management of local resources. He raised concerns about the environmental impact of unregulated mining and stressed the need for adopting practices that protect natural resources while enabling economic growth.
The MP urged the department to ensure proper checks on illegal mining activities. The meeting also explored potential opportunities for the region to develop local industries around mineral resources, creating jobs and boosting the local economy.
