Vijaypur, Oct 21: Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI) Vijaypur observed Police Commemoration Day on 21.10.2024 to pay homage to the police martyrs, who laid down their precious lives for the National security and sovereignty of the Country. On this occasion, Police contingents participated in the Commemoration Day Parade. While speaking on the occasion, Shri Dushyant Sharma-SSP, Principal PTTI Vijaypur, briefly explained the history behind this Police Commemoration Day. He said on 21st of October 1959, Chinese army attacked on the patrolling Police party of Central Police Force led by SI Karan Singh while performing duty on Indo-Tibtian Border. The police party fought bravely, in which 10 police personnel achieved martyrdom and 10 others were injured. Since this incident, every year Police Commemoration Day is being celebrated in all over the Country in the memory of the police martyrs. Principal PTTI Vijaypur also read over the names of (214) police personnel including (07) police officers/officials of J&K who laid down their precious lives in the country during the past one year. On the occasion, Shri Dhushyant Sharma (Principal PTTI Vijaypur), Shri Niaz-Ul-Hussain (Dy.SP Outdoor), Shri Devinder Gupta (Dy.SP R&D), Shri Surrinder Pal Singh (Dy.SP Indoor/Tech), all NGOs, staff, respectable citizens/Retd. Police personnel of the area including Shri Chadu Ram, Shri Surinder Sharma, Shri Subash Chander, Shri Ramesh Singh, Shri Yogeshwar Singh, Shri Sat Paul Sharma ( Retd Police Officers), Shri Ajay Koul, Shri Raj Kumar and others laid floral wreaths/showered flowers at the Martyr’s Smark (Samadhi) at the Institute. |
