KATHUA, Nov 5: Delhi Public School Junior, Kathua, recently transformed its campus into a vibrant hub of creativity and cultural expression with the successful hosting of an inter-class skit competition. This event brought together students, teachers, and parents in a celebration of talent and values, fostering an enriching environment that highlighted the school's commitment to holistic education.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Suninderjeet Kaur, a distinguished officer of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS), who has made significant contributions in various capacities throughout her career. With a wealth of experience as the Block Development Officer (BDO) for Barnoti and Nagri, Tehsildar for Nagri and Marheen, and currently serving as the Child Development Project Officer in Reasi, her insights and encouragement resonated deeply with all attendees. The Guest of Honour, Gauri Thakur, the school's respected administrator, added further prestige to the occasion with her supportive presence.
The day commenced with an auspicious lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Kaur, Gauri Thakur, Principal Vivek Arora, and School In-charge Monika Singh. This act symbolized the illumination of knowledge and the celebration of cultural values that the event sought to embody. In her welcoming address, Monika Singh expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished guests and the supportive school community. She highlighted the school's unwavering commitment to providing students with platforms to showcase their talents while growing into responsible citizens, emphasizing the importance of cultural values and social responsibility.
The event commenced on a reverent note with a captivating Ganesh Vandana performed by the students of UKG, invoking blessings for a successful celebration. The excitement in the air was palpable as each class from the primary wing took the stage, eager to present their skits. The students creatively addressed pressing societal issues and values such as unity, environmental preservation, water conservation, social responsibility, the importance of education, and moral integrity. Their captivating performances not only entertained but also inspired the audience, leaving a lasting impact and instilling a sense of pride and awareness among all present.
As the performances unfolded, the atmosphere was filled with joy and celebration. The students' artistic expressions were punctuated by a festive song that resonated throughout the hall, captivating the audience's hearts. Suninderjeet Kaur commended the young talents for their thought-provoking performances, reflecting on her pride as a parent of a DPS Junior student. She passionately underscored the necessity of instilling essential moral values like kindness and gratitude in children, stating, "Kindness is an umbrella that shelters all other values." Her heartfelt words resonated with the audience, reinforcing the importance of nurturing these virtues.
Principal Vivek Arora took the opportunity to express his admiration for the dedication displayed by both students and staff. He emphasized the critical importance of compassion and empathy in our daily lives, encouraging everyone present to cultivate these values not just within the school but in the larger community as well.
The School Administrator, Gauri Thakur, reiterated the school's vision of providing a holistic education. She emphasized that the institution is dedicated to instilling values, inspiring social awareness, and preparing responsible citizens capable of contributing positively to society.
