11/5/2024 9:50:43 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 5: Sanjay Aggarwal, Chairperson of Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) hails Central Government, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas for making CNG available in J&K. The issue of non availability of CNG in J&K was taken up by FADA Jammu at various levels in UT of J&K and with Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India.
People of Jammu and Kashmir earlier were not having the privilege of alternate fuel CNG in the entire UT of J&K in comparison to the neighbouring states which are enjoying the advantages of cheaper and economical alternative resulting in huge savings on their day today expenses. The economy of J&K UT largely depends upon Tourism, Horticulture and Small Scale Industries for which commercial vehicle being used are compelled to run on Diesel or Petrol which is much expensive as compared to CNG Fuel. Needless to mention that in all major cities of the country, most of the commercial passenger vehicles and goods carrier use CNG as an cheaper alternative, thereby saving huge cost on their livelihood.
CNG commonly referred to as the green fuel because of its lead and sulphur free character, CNG reduces harmful emissions thus reducing the effect of global warming. The use of CNG significantly reduces harmful vehicular exhaust gas emissions and protects the environment by reducing the effects of global warming and hence improves public health. The operational cost of vehicles running on CNG, as compared to those running on other fuels, is significantly low. CNG is Easy on the pocket and with better mileage.
With the availability of CNG in J&K the sale of CNG vehicles will get a new start and will benefit the people of J&K in a long run. Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Tata Motors and Hyundai are the main players of CNG vehicles with Maruti Suzuki being the front runner in selling CNG vehicles in the entire country having market share of 69.6%, Tata Motors 17.1% and Hyundai 11.1%.
With the availability of CNG the sale of CNG vehicles in J & K will get a boost as customers will now have the choice of purchasing CNG vehicle said Sanjay Aggarwal, Chairperson FADA Jammu.
