Kathua police recovers 20 liters of illicit liquor

KATHUA, Nov 5: In a continued effort to combat the trade and transportation of illicit liquor, J&K Police Kathua has arrested two women in the Khanpur area of PS Rajbagh and recovered approximately 20 liters of desi liquor from their possession. On November 4, 2024, a police team from PS Rajbagh, under the supervision of SDPO Border and SHO PS Rajbagh, conducted a naka/checking operation in the Khanpur area. During the operation, two individuals, Babli Devi (W/o Ganju Ram) and Neha Devi (W/o Rajesh Kumar), both residents of Khanpur village, were apprehended for their involvement in the illegal trade of desi liquor. The police seized the 20 liters of illicit liquor, which was intended for sale to local residents, and arrested the two women. A case has been registered under FIR No. 222/2024 U/S 48(a) of the Excise Act at PS Rajbagh, and an investigation is underway. SSP Kathua has assured that strict action will be taken against anyone involved in the illegal trade or transportation of illicit liquor. The general public has expressed appreciation for the Kathua Police's efforts in seizing illicit liquor and apprehending the suspects, believing that such actions will deter others from engaging in similar illegal activities.
