First-Aid Awareness, Youth Red Cross Camp held | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 16: The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), J&K UT, conducted a First-Aid Awareness and Youth Red Cross Camp for the faculty and students of Govt. Polytechnic for Women, Jammu. The initiative aimed to equip participants with essential life-saving skills and witnessed enthusiastic participation from both students and staff across various branches. Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Medical Officer, and Vironica Marwah, Field Officer from IRCS J&K, delivered detailed theoretical and practical training on basic First-Aid procedures. Topics covered included Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), dealing with fainting, choking, burns, and other emergencies. Principal of the institute, Suket Gupta, emphasized the significance of the program, stating, "The purpose of today's event is not just to teach first aid but to instill the confidence to act in emergencies. We believe every woman should have access to life-saving knowledge, and this training will benefit students and the broader community." He also expressed gratitude to IRCS for organizing the program and assured continued support for such initiatives. The event was supervised by Bhavna Arora, NSS Program Officer, Govt. Polytechnic for Women, Jammu. Students also took the opportunity to register with the Red Cross under the Youth Red Cross program. The camp was organized under the guidance of Rohit Khajuria, General Secretary, IRCS, J&K UT. |
