BARAMULLA, Nov 16: The Deputy Commissioner of Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, presided over a meeting today with Revenue Officers to assess the advancement of various public service initiatives and deliberate on revenue-related issues.
The discussion aimed at improving service delivery and ensuring effective governance throughout the district.
A significant aspect of the meeting was the evaluation of the Samadhaan Portal, which is designed to enhance the grievance redressal mechanism.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed the officers to prioritize the prompt and effective resolution of public complaints, emphasizing the necessity of transparency and accountability in handling grievances.
Minga Sherpa also addressed revenue-related concerns, particularly focusing on the verification of digital land records.
He urged officers to accelerate the verification process, rectify any discrepancies, and guarantee that land records are readily accessible to the public, thereby fostering improved land management and transparency within the district.
Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner discussed the oversight of essential services, especially healthcare, during the winter months. He directed Sub-Divisional and Tehsil-level leaders to perform regular inspections of hospitals to ensure the quality of medical services and maintain preparedness to meet increased demand during the colder season.
The objective is to ensure that healthcare facilities are equipped to provide sufficient services to the public.
In response to concerns regarding drug abuse, DC Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, instructed Sub-Divisional and Tehsil-level leaders to organize anti-drug awareness camps at the Tehsil and Sub-Division levels.
These camps will aim to educate the public, particularly the youth, about the risks associated with substance abuse and to promote a drug-free community.
Deputy Commissioner encouraged all officers to embrace a proactive approach to governance and to streamline services effectively.
Meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore, Shabir Ahmad Raina, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Arshad Ahmad Khan, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Gulmarg, Syed Altaf Hussain Musvi, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Uri, Javed Ahmad Rather, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Pattan, Gulzar Ahmad besides All Tehsildars of Baramulla district and other officials.
