Rotary Club Jammu city organizes awareness seminar

Jammu, Nov 16: The Rotary Club of Jammu City and SOTTO ( state organ and tissue transplant organisation) in collaboration with Government Degree College, Kunjwani, successfully organized an awareness seminar on the vital topic of organ donation. The seminar aimed to educate and inspire the audience about the importance of organ donation as a life-saving and humane act.
Rtn. Shivangi Gupta, President of Rotary Club Jammu City, opened the event with an introduction to the club’s various humanitarian projects and initiatives. She emphasized the significance of organ donation, stating, “Organ donation is not just a medical procedure; it is a noble act of kindness and humanity that can give a second chance at life to those in need.” Prof. (Dr.) Manisha Sarup Kohli principal of the college motivated students to register as organ donars.
The seminar featured Miss Anshu Sharma, Consultant (IEC/Media) from SOTTO J&K, as the resource person. She delivered an engaging and detailed presentation on organ donation, covering its medical, ethical, and procedural aspects. Her insights helped the attendees understand the importance of organ donation and its impact on society.
The event was graced by the presence of Rotary members, including Rtn. Sanjeev Vaid, Rtn. Robin Mehta, Rtn. Arvind Kotwal, and Rtn. Ritika Mahajan. The seminar witnessed active participation from the students and faculty of Government Degree College, Kunjwani, fostering a lively and interactive discussion on the topic.
The event concluded with a collective commitment to raise awareness about organ donation and encourage more people to take part in this noble cause.
