Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 19: Residents of Sainik Colony, Jammu, are frustrated as their right to elect representatives has been denied since 2017. Despite a clear High Court directive on April 23, 2024, mandating elections by October 22, 2024, the process remains stalled. Serving personnel, veterans, war widows, and other eligible voters blame officials and agencies for derailing the process on flimsy grounds. The delay has pushed residents to consider legal and other measures to ensure their democratic rights are restored. Authorities are urged to address the brewing discontent and fulfill their duty to uphold democratic principles. |
