Amul, JKMPCL Flag Off Clean Fuel Rally | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 20: In a spirited celebration of National Milk Day, Amul and Jammu and Kashmir Milk Producers Cooperative Limited (JKMPCL) organized the 'Clean Fuel Rally 2024' at the Satwari dairy plant. The event honored the legacy of Dr. Verghese Kurien, the "Father of the White Revolution," who revolutionized India's dairy industry. The rally was inaugurated by Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Ashok Kumar Anugurana (IAS Retd.), Chairman - JKMPCL, Manjeet Singh, Regional Manager Sales-Bajaj Auto Limited, and Abhishek Sharma, Zonal Incharge, Chandigarh Zone-Amul. Together, they flagged off the rally, sending a group of enthusiastic bikers on a 783-kilometer journey to Delhi. The rally will conclude on November 26, National Milk Day, passing through cities such as Amritsar, Ludhiana, Karnal, and Rohtak. The Clean Fuel Rally aims to: Educate the youth about institutions established by Dr. Kurien and their impact on India's dairy sector. Advocate for sustainability through the use of Bio-CNG, promoting a circular economy to benefit farmers and protect the environment. Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar lauded the efforts of JKMPCL and Amul, emphasizing Dr. Kurien's role in transforming India into the largest producer of milk and dairy products, uplifting millions of rural farmers. Chairman JKMPCL Ashok Kumar Anugurana highlighted the significance of promoting Bio-CNG as a step toward cleaner energy and sustainable development, in line with Dr. Kurien's vision of economic and environmental progress. The rally participants will engage with communities at various stops, raising awareness about clean energy and Dr. Kurien's contributions to the dairy sector.
