Udhampur police rescue 42 bovines, seize four vehicles | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Dec 6: In a major operation against bovine smuggling, Udhampur Police rescued 42 bovines and seized four vehicles used for illegal transportation in four separate attempts. Chenani Police Station intercepted two vehicles bearing registration numbers JK19A-5934 and JK08N-4932 at Chenani Naka Point. A total of 16 bovines were rescued, and cases have been registered under relevant laws. Majalta Police Station rescued 17 bovines from a truck (Reg. No. JK01AP-1871) and registered another FIR for the offense. Roun Police Post led by its ICPP stopped an oil tanker (Reg. No. JK02AD-7712) and rescued 9 bovines, registering FIR No. 486/2024 U/S 223(a) BNS, 11 PCA Act at Udhampur Police Station. The timely actions have dealt a blow to bovine smuggling networks operating in the region. Investigations in all cases are ongoing. Udhampur Police reiterated their commitment to combating such illegal activities and maintaining law and order. |
