Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 6: In a major breakthrough, Bishnah Police Station has solved several burglary and theft cases, recovering stolen golden ornaments and other valuables worth over ?30 lakhs. The investigation began after a burglary was reported on November 16, 2024, by Bindu Rani, a resident of Bandrali, Bishnah. She reported the theft of golden ornaments, including a Mangal Sutra, bangles, and a chain, from her home during her absence. Based on her complaint, an FIR (No. 192/2024 U/S 331(3)/305-A BNS) was registered, and a special team led by SHO Bishnah Inspector Sushil Choudhary, under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura and SP Headquarters Jammu, was formed. Through technical inputs and local intelligence, the team apprehended Rohit Chouhan alias Labhu, a resident of Haria Chak, Kathua. During interrogation, Chouhan confessed to being the leader of an active theft gang in Bishnah and adjoining areas. He also revealed the involvement of his associates, Sahil Kumar and Vishal Kumar, both residents of Haria Chak, Kathua. The accused confessed their involvement in multiple cases, including: FIR No. 170/2024 FIR No. 139/2024 FIR No. 122/2024 FIR No. 154/2024 (all of Police Station Bishnah) FIR No. 14/2024 (Police Station Miran Sahib) The stolen items were recovered from the locations disclosed by the accused, including golden ornaments and other goods worth ?30 lakhs. In a separate case (FIR No. 204/2024), Bishnah Police recovered six stolen bovines, further demonstrating their commitment to combating criminal activities. This success underscores the professionalism and efficiency of Jammu Police in maintaining law and order while ensuring justice for victims.
