Anti-Crime NGO Chairman meets SSPs to address drug menace | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 6: Sham Lal Gupta, Chairman of the Anti-Crime NGO, held a pivotal meeting with SSP Special Crime Wing Sanjay Parihar and SSP Crime Branch Benam Tosh to address the growing drug menace in Jammu. The discussions focused on collaborative measures to curb substance abuse and protect the region's youth. Sham Lal Gupta highlighted the alarming impact of drugs on the younger generation, calling it both a health and social crisis. He urged collective efforts from law enforcement, NGOs, and families to combat the issue. SSP Sanjay Parihar shared updates on anti-drug operations, intelligence strategies, and inter-agency collaborations aimed at disrupting drug supply chains. SSP Benam Tosh stressed preventive measures like awareness campaigns in schools and communities, addressing root causes such as unemployment and peer pressure, and emphasizing rehabilitation and skill development. Gupta assured the NGO's support through community initiatives, awareness drives, and counseling. The meeting also proposed hotlines for reporting drug-related activities and strengthening community policing. Accompanied by ASI Naresh Digra, ex-councillor Sahil Gupta, and other members, Gupta reinforced a unified commitment to safeguard Jammu's youth from the drug menace.
