Early Times Report RS PURA, Dec 7: Government Degree College (GDC), R.S. Pura, in collaboration with the Sainik Welfare Department, marked Armed Forces Flag Day 2024 with a fundraising activity under the guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. Preetpal Kour. The event was supervised by Lt. Rakesh Choudhary, ANO Boys, and Dr. Rupali Slathia, ANO Girls. NCC cadets of the college played an active role in the Flag Day Fund collection drive within and beyond the campus, covering areas such as Miran Sahib and Arnia. The collected funds aim to support the rehabilitation of battle casualties, welfare of serving personnel and their families, and the resettlement of ex-servicemen. Armed Forces Flag Day, observed annually on December 7, honors the valor and sacrifices of India's military personnel. The day reinforces the connection between civilians and the armed forces, fostering national pride and unity. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Prof. Dr. Preetpal Kour emphasized the importance of the event, stating, "Armed Forces Flag Day not only honors the bravery and commitment of the military but also strengthens the bond between civilians and the armed forces." She encouraged cadets to actively participate in such initiatives to contribute to the welfare of the nation.
