Traffic Rural Jammu holds interactive session | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, Dec 7: In a bid to ensure smooth vehicular movement amid ongoing construction on the National Highway (NHW) from Lakhanpur to Bari Brahmana, SSP Traffic Rural Jammu, Girdhari Lal Sharma, visited Kathua for a comprehensive review of traffic management. During the visit, he interacted with SSP Kathua, Shobhit Saxena, IPS, and other senior officials. Traffic Challenges in Kathua: SSP Traffic Rural Jammu addressed the ongoing challenges in managing vehicular movement on NHW and other key routes due to the construction work. The discussion focused on resolving traffic issues and ensuring public safety. Focus on Strict Enforcement of MV Act: Traffic Police personnel were directed to prioritize strict enforcement of traffic rules. Efforts should focus on preventing violations, including rash driving, overloading, and improper parking. Improved Coordination for Better Traffic Management: SSP Girdhari Lal Sharma emphasized collaboration with the District Administration, local police, and NHAI officials to minimize accidents and congestion, especially at traffic bottlenecks caused by road widening projects. Public Awareness & Ethical Enforcement: Traffic Police officers were urged to maintain high ethical and professional standards while fostering public confidence through strict but fair law enforcement. Awareness campaigns targeting the general public, especially youth, on traffic laws were also highlighted. Operational Readiness & Deployment of Resources: Directions were issued for better utilization of traffic personnel, with focus on strategic deployment to ensure smooth and obstruction-free traffic flow during peak times and pilgrimages. Support for Annual Pilgrimage: Preparations for the upcoming Shri Budha Amar Nath Ji Yatra and related events were also reviewed. The meeting emphasized seamless vehicular movement through proactive traffic measures during special occasions. Strengthened focus on preventing traffic violations and enforcing laws under the Motor Vehicle Act. Ensuring zero misbehavior or malpractice among personnel while on duty. Monitoring of daily patrol operations and addressing overloading issues in buses and other public service vehicles. Ensuring safety for passengers and traffic adherence along key routes under construction. Special efforts for traffic clearance during special events and pilgrimages, with coordination from local law enforcement agencies.
