Government polytechnic Jammu organizes field visit

Jammu, Dec 7: Government Polytechnic Jammu organized a one-day technical/field visit for 3rd and 5th-semester students of the Instrumentation and Control Engineering department to Uflex Ltd. Unit 3, located at the Baribrahmana industrial area. The visit was conducted under the guidance of Er. Arun Bangotra, Principal of Government Polytechnic Jammu, and Jasdeep Kour, HOD of Instrumentation and Control Engineering.
The primary objective of the field visit was to provide students with practical exposure to the industrial environment and familiarize them with real-world work scenarios.
During the visit, Mr. Amlan Bhattacharaya, Plant Head of Uflex Unit 3, shared valuable insights with the students about the company’s operations, processes, work culture, and employment opportunities. Additionally, Mr. Santosh Kumar Singh, HR Head, and his team elaborated on packaging design and quality control (QC) at the Uflex plant.
Mr. Rajeev, AGM-Maintenance, provided a detailed explanation about maintenance work, the role of instrumentation engineers, and the engineering benefits of technical skills, offering students an industry perspective on their career paths.
The visit offered students a hands-on learning opportunity to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. It also provided insights into industry trends, potential career paths in automation and manufacturing, and the role of instrumentation and process control engineers in modern industries.
The Uflex visit, a leading multinational flexible packaging company, explored its sustainability efforts, operational processes, and innovation in flexible film manufacturing. The visit motivated students by enhancing their technical knowledge and offering real-world applications of process control and instrumentation.
Staff members accompanying the students included Er. Ashok Kumar Verma and Er. Priya Bandana, who facilitated the learning experience during the visit.
