JAMMU, Dec 10: Department of Environmental Sciences of Govt. G.L.D.M Degree college, Hiranagar, arranged Field visit to nearby Chajarth Pond on 10-12-2024. The visit was organized for the students of Sem I (Minor course). The visit was part of their Course Curriculum. The aim of the field visit was to connect with nature, learn importance of wetlands, conservation and importance of plants and animals. The students studied the abiotic and biotic components of Pond Ecosystem. Students performed on spot studies, collect data through their own observations and also took samples of pond water for further studies of physical parameters in the Environmental Science Laboratory of the College. The visit was organized under the esteemed guidance of principal of the college Dr. Pragya Khanna. She said such field visits impart practical knowledge among students, create environmental awareness and lead to conservation of plants. The Visit was organized under the supervision of Prof. Neeru Sharma (HOD, Department of Environmental Sciences). Dr. Anupma Arora, Prof. Rakesh Sharma and Dr. Zahid accompanied the field visit and guided the students in their best ways. |
