SMVDU's SoCSE hosts two-day student orientation workshop | | | Early Times Report KATRA, Dec 10: The School of Computer Science and Engineering (SoCSE) at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) successfully organized a two-day workshop on Student Orientation, featuring sessions by esteemed external experts. The workshop was led by Dr. Baijnath Kaushik, Head of SoCSE, and coordinated by Mr. Sanjay Sharma, the Organizing Secretary. It aimed to provide students with insights into contemporary technological advancements and practical applications. Day 1: Cybersecurity Session: Prof. Savita Nayyar, from the University of Jammu, delivered a compelling lecture on cybersecurity, covering various types of cybercrimes and relevant legal frameworks. Her session was well-received for its depth and relevance. IoT and Deep Learning in Healthcare: Dr. Badri N. Subudhi of IIT Jammu provided an enlightening discussion on how IoT and Deep Learning are revolutionizing healthcare systems. Day 2: Image Processing and Deep Learning Applications: Dr. Puneet Goyal from IIT Ropar delivered a session on the fundamentals of image processing and its applications in deep learning, offering participants valuable insights into this cutting-edge field. The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty, research scholars, and students. The sessions were effectively hosted by Tavneet, Subha, Hridanshu, and Vanshika, with Abhigya Mahajan delivering the Vote of Thanks.
